Would your drama club like to help raise awareness amongst youths and young adults about suicide prevention? Then be a part of ‘Catch You When You Fall’ a showcase of 10 minute plays that show, with open communication and acceptance of people as they are – we can help.
‘Catch you When You Fall’ is SDEA’s effort to help raise awareness on suicide prevention.
In November last year, IMH held a tee-shirt design competition, SDEA thought some of the slogans on the tee-shirts of finalists were perfect for play titles.
So we’re inviting students to create original 10 minute plays showing that with open communication and acceptance of people as they are – we can help.
These student-led pieces must carry one of these titles:
The Best Thing about Life is Being Alive (title credit: Karen Chan)
Life Gets Shaky Sometimes – Hang On (title credit: Nor Liyana Nor Man)
Whatever Happens Tomorrow, You Have Today (title credit: Yvonne Tan Pei Yin)
Live (title credit: Jason Khoo Soon Chang)
We’re keeping it simple!
Each group should have no more than 4 actors. We will only provide you with 4 chairs – however, you can bring any props you need as long as they can fit into a big, blue IKEA bag!
E-mail all scripts by 15th April to firstname.lastname@example.org. Selected plays will be invited to perform on one of these dates: 1st June & 2nd June, 7pm at the Chamber, The Arts House. You don’t have to pay to take part and each team will be given 2 complimentary tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased from the Arts House box office.
