Dr. Noorlinah Mohamed** Modules: Introduction to Drama Education in the Singapore Context (DESC), Drama as Critical Pedagogy: Embodied Learning as Holistic Development (DCP), The Reflective Practitioner (Presentations for Reflection)

About Dr. Noorlinah Mohamed:

Noorlinah is an award-winning theatre actress who is also a teaching artist and creator of public engagement arts projects in Singapore.

Since 1988, she has performed with various Singapore theatre companies. Internationally, she has performed in Asia, Europe and the US. In arts education, she has undertaken artist residencies in schools, develops curriculum as well as professional development for teaching artists and teachers in arts pedagogy.

As a producer, she has worked on both intimate and large scale arts events, including the Singapore International Festival of Arts (2014-2017), co-creating platforms and works for and with Singapore as well as international artists. Noorlinah is a recipient of the JCCI Cultural Award (2008) and the Women’s Weekly Women of our Time Award (2005) for her work in the arts. She obtained her PhD in Arts Education from the University of Warwick in 2013.

Presently, she is the Artistic Director of N.O.W., Not Ordinary Work. It is an interdisciplinary public project focusing on women creatives and change-makers.

Oniatta Effendi** Modules: Developing and Delivering Meaningful Drama Sessions: Effective Engagement & Thoughtful Planning (EETP)

About Oniatta Effendi:

Oniatta is an educator with over 20 years of experience in the classroom. A strong advocate of the Arts and an active applied drama practitioner, she believes in the transformative nature of drama, especially with vulnerable communities. She has worked with ex-offenders with addiction issues in a halfway house, youth offenders in juvenile rehabilitative spaces, youths in welfare homes as well as youths with special needs.

When she is not in these spaces, Oniatta finds pleasure in sourcing for Batik fabrics. She founded Baju by Oniatta – a clothing line, dedicated to revive Batik by reinventing the way it is worn and appreciate, and has recently opened a boutique called Galeri Tokokita to house her collection of batiks and batik apparel.

Oniatta is a proud mother of 5 children.

Elvira Holmberg** Modules: Learning Environments & Classroom Management: Designs & Strategies in the Singapore Context (LECM)

About Elvira Holmberg:

Elvira Holmberg has been a theatre arts educator for almost thirty years. She has worked in a wide range of schools and with youth communities in Singapore, Rotterdam, Delft and The Hague teaching students and teachers in local and international schools and developing curriculum and as a consultant. Since 2014, Elvira teaches and directs at the Theatre Faculty of the School of the Arts. She served on the committee of the Singapore Drama Educators Association (SDEA) for eleven years, including four years as Vice President and four years as President. She was also the co-chairperson of three of SDEA's Theatre Arts Conference.

As a theatre practitioner Elvira is primarily a director. While in the The Netherlands she directed for Cosmic Theater [Amsterdam] DNA [Delft] and Hofplein Jeugd Theater [Rotterdam]. She has also performed in several productions for Keizer en van der Mast. Before 2017 Elvira worked with a number of local theatre companies such as The Necessary Stage, TheatreWorks, Teater Kami, Singapore Repertory Theatre, and more recently she was involved in Ekamatra's Projekt Suitcase.

Michele Lim** Modules: Professional Code of Practice for Drama and Theatre Educators (PCOP)

About Michele Lim:

Arts Management Consultant/Trainer/Producer

Michele has been involved in the arts education scene in Singapore since 1993.After leaving TheatreWorks Ltd as its General Manager in 2000.

Michele now consults for diverse arts organisations in Singapore in the areas of strategic planning, branding and communications, organisational and people development. She also teaches part-time for the Performing Arts Faculty at LASALLE College of the Arts.

Her producing credits include: At Last I Came to the Seas (Huayi Festival, Kuo Jian Hong, 2018) ; Dark Room (Esplanade Studio, Edith Podesta, 2016) ; Returning (Singapore International Festival Of The Arts, Goh Lay Kuan, 2015), Perfection of 10 (Esplanade Studio, Sean Tobin, 2012) ; Dream Country: A Lost Monologue (Singapore Arts Festival Commission, Marion D'Cruz, 2012).

Michele is a founder member of the Singapore Drama Educators Association (SDEA), Two and Fifty Years (TAFY) which later led to Centre 42 Ltd; and Singapore Theatre For Young Audiences Researchers (STYAR).

Roland Samosir** Modules: Professional Code of Practice for Drama and Theatre Educators (PCOP)

About Roland Samosir:

Roland is a Partner at the law firm of Low Yeap Toh & Goon LLP. He was involved in the Arts in his university days and beyond, taking on the roles of actor, soundman and stage manager in various productions. He knows that legal jargon, especially in contracts, can be confusing. Hoping that his legal training and involvement in the Arts could come in useful, he tries to demystify contracts to those who would listen to him, making contracts more understandable and manageable to those in the Arts.

Sean Tobin** Modules: Evaluation in the Drama Classroom (EDC), Assessment of a Drama Session (ADS)

Sean Tobin hails from West Australia and holds a Bachelor of Education (specialising in Drama) from Edith Cowan University. He has 25 years experience working in Theatre and with young people, most of it in Singapore. In addition to heading drama departments in schools in West Australia, Sean has over 20 years experience in the Singapore theatre and education circles as a teacher, performer, writer, director, consultant and festival director.

Sean was part of the founding committee for SDEA and contributes when he can with workshops and forums. He has worked full time with Act 3 International, TOUCH Arts and The Necessary Stage and was formerly the Artistic Director of the M1 Youth Connection, M1 Theatre Connect and The Necessary Community Festival. In his time with these various companies Sean taught in a wide range of SIngapore schools, teaching students of all ages, in a range of contexts.

Sean has also conceptualised and directed well-regarded productions such as Close – In My Face, Sing Song, Tongues, and The Perfection of 10. Sean also loves directing young people in theatre productions; having recently directed SOTA students in shows such as Cluster Fish by Haresh Sharma, Smartbutt by Jean Tay, and William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream After 11 years, Sean recently stepped down from his role as Head of Theatre Faculty at SOTA, and he recently wrapped up 6 years in his role as Artistic Director of the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival. Sean continues to teach fulltime with SOTA.
