A Night of Reflection
Graduation of SDEA Drama Pedagogy: ETLA 4th Intake Participants
Participants from the 4th intake of our SDEA Drama Pedagogy course received their certificates that night. After 40 hours of training, we are more than proud to certify each participant as a pedagogically trained drama educator!
On this emotional night, Molizah Bte Mohd Mohter talked about her journey through the course and why she decided to take it up. Moli's story stands as a testament to why continual learning is important for the drama educator. You can read more of it here!
Connections 2019
Tan Beng Tian, artistic director of The Finger Players, then took the mic to share about her own experience working on her production of Not In My Lifetime? and the collaboration with SDEA over Connections 2019. The reflection was not just a recount of what went down, but how Beng Tian herself was empowered to do more through SDEA, by organising a panel discussion and a workgroup to discuss the issues surrounding inclusivity in education.
Here's to Beng Tian continuing the fight for a more inclusive classroom, rehearsal space, and theatre space going forward!
Food talks
Let's Connect (and the food that comes with it) brings together practitioners and educators from all walks of life. Fresh graduates and students get stuck deep in conversation with veterans of the field in this community, and may even end up working together through SDEA in many ways!
Interest Groups
Applied theatre practitioner Rosie McGowan rounded off an eventful night with a sharing of (and invitation to) her interest group on self-care for drama practitioners. Having already conducted one session, she shared that future sessions may include anything from Zumba and Yoga sessions to art jamming. Stay tuned, the next interest group session is happening on Wednesday 19th June, at the SDEA office!
