New Ordinary Membership Application

Ordinary Members shall have the right to vote and hold office. Ordinary Membership is open to:

  • Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents or foreign citizens working and based in Singapore
  • Individuals who, in accordance with SDEA’s Constitution, are engaged in drama and/or theatre education, administrating or promoting drama education/the performing arts in general
  • Individuals who are 21 years of age or above

By signing up as a member, you agree to abide by SDEA’s Code of Professional Practice.

One time registration fee: SGD $40

New Associate Membership Application

Associate Members shall not have the right to vote and hold office. Associate Membership is open to:

  • Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents or foreign citizens working and based in Singapore
  • Individuals with active passion and interest in the promotion of drama education and the performing arts in general but do not meet SDEA’s criteria for Ordinary membership
  • Foreign drama educators not based in Singapore may also apply

By signing up as a member, you agree to abide by SDEA’s Code of Professional Practice.

One time registration fee: SGD $40

All Membership is reviewed annually by the Elected Committee.

  • Be an ambassador for SDEA

    • To observe the rules, warnings and oral instructions given by the volunteer coordinator
    • I recognize that there may be certain inherent risks in some voluntary activities, and I assume full responsibility for personal injury and release and discharge SDEA for any loss or damage
    • To indemnify and defend SDEA against all claims, causes of actions, damages, judgments, costs and expenses including legal expenses which may arise from my presence in the activities
    • To pay for all damages arising from or caused by my negligence, reckless or willful actions

Established in 2002 by a group of artists, arts educators and arts managers, SDEA is an independent, non-profit organisation and managed by a volunteer committee elected on a 2 year cycle. SDEA’s mission is to advocate for the educational and artistic value of drama and to advance the profession of the drama educators.

In its advocacy work, SDEA engages with as many sectors as possible on how drama and applied drama can be used in educational, organisational and community settings.
