Professional Development with SDEA
Professional Development educates and inspires you – it keeps you informed on the latest trends strategies and challenges in the world of drama education. Drama offers a multitude of avenues some of which include other art forms that you can incorporate into your work.
SDEA offers professional development in these ways:
- Signature Events - SDEA’s signature events, Connections, Celebrate Drama! and the SDEA Theatre Arts Conference reach out to different groups of people with diverse offerings of the application of drama
- *Periodic Workshops - these entry level sessions recommended for those who have little or no experience in what’s offered
- *Periodic Master Classes - come for these if you are already familiar and have had some experience in what’s presented
- *WSQ (Workforce Skills Qualification) Courses - SDEA is collaborating with Singapore’s national accreditation system to train, develop, assess and recognize individuals for competencies in Drama Education. 'Elements of Drama' is the current course offered by SDEA.
- Dramatise - SDEA’s in house annual publication for practitioners and academics.
* These are subject to the availability of trainers or visiting artists
One often overlooked avenue of professional development is the involvement in discussions, forums, and interest groups that affect policies, professional conduct and benchmarking practices as well as research and development programmes. Being part of a sub-committee in SDEA helps grow your skills and network. Come share your aspirations with us – we may let you lead in a project mentored by the right people!
