Judy Ngo was involved in SDEA’s Connections in Oct 2010 with CCAB where she ran a workshop for teachers on devising. She currently serves as on the committee as its Secretary and is also on the Celebrate Drama 2012 team. Judy is also part of SDEA’s new interest group on Ethics and Code of Conduct.
Judy holds a degree in Theatre Studies from NUS and is currently the Artistic Director of CH!LL! PADI where she directs for them under NAC’s AEP programme. She has had more than 11 years of experience working with schools within the capacity of a drama educator, CCA instructor, Artist-in-School and director. She hopes to be able to pass on her passion and respect for this art form to her students through long term training.
She has acted for various theatre companies such as The Finger Players, STAGES, Dramabox, W!LD Rice and The Theatre Practice. Some of her recent productions include “One Hundred Years of Solitude 10.0 – Cultural Revolution” (a prelude of Zuni’s 30th Anniversary repertoire in Hong Kong), “K”, “If There Are Seasons…”, “Mad Forest” (won Best Ensemble for Life! Theatre Awards 2008) and “I’m Just A Piano Teacher” (won Best Ensemble for Life! Theatre Awards 2007).
She also believes in constant training for herself and she has attended courses conducted by international artists such as Philippe Gaulier (France), Danny Yung (Hong Kong), Teng Shu-Wing (Hong Kong), Anne Bogart (USA), Keith Johnstone (Canada), and Richard Schenier (USA).
